What does a salt cave session entail?
During a 45-minute session inside the salt cave, clients can relax in a zero-gravity chair, stretch out on a heated blanket by the faux fire pit, or choose other resting options for their trek. A cave associate will discuss the benefits of halotherapy and answer any questions. Once the session begins, the lights are brought down, music plays, and starry lights twinkle above to lull you into a state of relaxation. Just kick back, breathe deeply, and enjoy your journey.

The cave itself is filled with thousands of pounds of beautiful pink salt that has been hand-mined out of the Himalayan Mountains. It is designed to make you feel as though you have landed in a courtyard in Nepal, with images of Mt. Everest and building facades that evoke a sense of another land. When people come out of the cave, they are typically very at ease and move on to our Tea Room. This cozy atmosphere has heated salt foot detox domes that you can rest your feet on while enjoying a cup of tea or water to rehydrate. A trip to the Himalayan Hideaway Salt Cave is an experience that allows you to feel as though you’ve gone to another country, without leaving the city!

What do I bring inside the salt cave?
Just yourself! Outside items are not permitted, and electronics are not allowed inside the salt cave. Not only do we want you to have an escape from the everyday distractions of life, but salt can be corrosive to cell phones, smart watches, etc., so we don’t want them to become damaged. You may leave your belongings tucked in our cabinet, out in your car, or at home. If you would like to bring a book, keep in mind that the lighting will be very dim during a session.
What do I wear inside the salt cave?
Everyday clothing is fine for the cave, but we recommend dressing comfortably so you can unwind and soak in the experience. The only requirement is that each person removes their shoes, so you may go barefoot or wear socks.
Is the temperature in the cave hot or cold?
Actually, neither. The cave is not a heated environment, and the temperature usually maintains a comfortable level between 70 and 73 degrees. However, blankets are provided because as we relax, our body temperature can drop, making us feel chilly. Also, some just feel like snuggling up and getting cozy while relaxing!
How many people are in each session?
The typical salt cave session allows up to 8 people at one time. Depending on your appointment time, there may or may not be other people in your session. If you book a private full cave rental, you may include up to 10 people in your group. Please be aware that there is a limited number of chairs that are always set up, so let us know if you need additional seating or have special needs.
How do I make an appointment?
To make an appointment for a session, you can email us at wssaltcave@gmail.com or call or text us at (336) 422-6974. You’ll need to provide your name, phone number, email address, and the number of people in your party.
Do I need to make an appointment?
We typically have appointments available each day, but we prefer that you book in advance with us so we can monitor capacity and schedule. We do accept walk-ins and are happy to accommodate if the space permits.
What happens if I’m late for my appointment?
Our cave sessions start at the top of each hour, so please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time so you have time to use the restroom and settle in. If you are late and arrive after the session has started, we would be happy to reschedule your appointment. On your way, if you encounter an issue causing you to be a few minutes late, please call us immediately, and we will hold the door for you, if possible. However, once the session begins, we do not allow anyone to enter the cave if the lights have already been lowered. This allows for everyone’s experience to be the most enjoyable.
Is halotherapy safe for everyone?
Halotherapy is safe for just about everyone. However, it is not recommended for those who are on active chemotherapy or tuberculosis treatments. If you have a condition that you are concerned about, you are welcome to discuss halotherapy with your doctor.
